Job Description: We're looking for an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to help take Napster's agile product development process to the next level. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to run multiple concurrent Scrums; will have a strong track record in implementing and managing test driven development, pair programming, continuous integration, and the other pieces of the Agile pie; and will be a champion of best practices, effective processes, and high-quality code. In addition, he/she will be a natural leader, eager to shape the future evolution of a truly cross-functional, team-centric, product-driven company.
This is a role for a seasoned Scrum Master, who has been in the trenches, got his/her scars, and is eager to apply their hard-earned knowledge and experience to creating a first-rate agile development capability.
Responsibilities:
* Work with product owners to craft and refine user stories;
* Drive sprint planning and estimation;
* Run stand-ups, track progress, hold retrospectives, etc.;
* Improve key aspects of current Scrum process;
* Work with a cross-functional team including Engineering, QA, Support, Outbound Marketing, User Interface Design and Product Managers
* Standardize Scrum practices across multiple Agile teams;
* Communicate key performance information to the wider organization;
* Mentor team members on Agile principles and responsibilities;
* Deploy and utilize appropriate tools and techniques to manage multi-site teams.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of Agile project management experience, preferably with consumer software and/or Internet related media applications (digital music/media experience a plus);
* Certified Scrum Master qualification or 2+ years. experience working as a Scrum Master;
* Experience with Web Services development environments (Java, JS, LAMP, Perl);
* Ability to manage diverse constituencies and act as a semi-permeable filter between the needs of the business and the needs of the Agile teams;
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate both technical and business issues;
* Proven ability to build motivated, collaborative and productive development teams;
* Methodical, detail oriented, efficient, organized, highly productive, a true self-starter;
* A commitment to mentoring, coaching and evangelizing Agile across the organization.
* Excellent organizational, statistical, analytical, problem solving, written and oral presentation skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency expected;
* Must be resourceful, self-motivated, and able to be successful in a non-traditional, fun, entrepreneurial team-based environment;
* Passionate about music!
