Job Description
Senior Server Engineer – Star Trek Online
Join the Perpetual Entertainment crew in creating the newest chapter in one of the most beloved sci-fi franchises ever! Perpetual Entertainment is staffing up to build the interstellar MMO Star Trek Online.
We currently have a crew vacancy for a Senior Server Engineer to design and develop game server features for a next generation massively multi-player PC game.
If you have the vision and skill to create the exotic worlds and fantastic creatures of the Star Trek universe, we want you on board.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop MMO server code on a cutting-edge distributed Linux platform
* Work with other engineers to share, reuse, and extend existing infrastructure
* Participate in technical and creative design
* Work with the design team to establish requirements and specifications
* Mentor junior developers
Qualifications
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
* Extensive experience developing networked applications
* Strong familiarity with Linux development using C++
* Some Familiarity with Windows C++ programming
* Knowledge of networking, multi-thread and distributed systems
* Development and documentation of technical designs
* Aid with general profiling, optimization, and bug fixing
Pluses
* Network programming experience
* MORPG development and/or playing experience
* Database programming knowledge
* Self motivated and strong work ethic
* Passion for gaming
* Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
