Job Description
Planning Manager
Bluefly.com, a leading online outlet for designer fashion and home furnishings, has a position
available for a Planning Manager within Merchandise Planning . This is a terrific opportunity to
work in an exciting Internet environment with the resources of a Nasdaq SmallCap company (ticker
symbol: BFLY).
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and execute Divisional Pre-Season Plans and In-Season Merchandise Projections
(Retail $, Cost $ and Units) to category/sub-category level
• Create and execute Assortment Plans (Retail $, Cost $ and Units, style and color choice
counts) to category/sub-category level
• Develop and implement vendor/brand plans that support overall merchandise and financial
objectives
• Participate in reconciliation of Top-down and Bottom-up plans
• Develop merchandise flow (style/cc counts for purchases and activation on site) and
liquidation strategies with Buyers
• Create and execute overall pricing strategy and markdown cadence at style level to ensure
maximization of margin dollars
• Manage Open-to-Buy process to category/sub-category level, partnering with Buyers,
Production and On-line Retail to ensure merchandise and financial strategies are mutually
supportive, highlighting and working through areas of liability and opportunity
• Provide support and direction to Bluefly brand by partnering and effectively
communicating with brand cross-functional teams: Merchandising, Production,
On-line Retail, Marketing and Warehouse, IT/Business Intelligence
• Generate timely reports and analyses in support of Planning and Merchandising
teams; analyze historical data and forecast on current trends
Qualifications:
• Candidate should have 3-5 years Merchandise Planning experience within a Retail or
E-commerce environment
• Strong computer skills: including Excel, Microsoft Word, Business Objects and Access .
• JDA Arthur Planning exposure a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and aggressive deadlines while working in fun, fast-paced,
environment
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-starter attitude
