Position Summary:
MobiTV is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Director of Business Development and Programming to focus on strategic media accounts. This position will be responsible for oversight of MobiTV’s key content partnerships including: NBC Universal, The Walt Disney Company, MTV Networks and CBS.
The Senior Director will structure and negotiate deals from term sheet to signature, seek new ways to grow existing strategic relationships and forge new deals with top brands in the industry. Candidates must have extensive experience structuring and negotiating content deals, possess a passion for new media and a proven track record of success. Candidates must also be confident communicating with senior executives both internally and externally with content partners.
This position is a key part of the content acquisition team and will report to the Senior Director of Business Development and Programming. The Senior Manager of Strategic Accounts will report into this position.
Responsibilities:
• Manage high-level relationships within the key media companies
• Structure and negotiate new deals, renewals and amendments
• Seek out new strategic or revenue generating opportunities with key accounts with an eye towards constantly growing MobiTV partnerships
• Work in tandem with Sr. Account Manager to ensure oversight of all day-to-day activities as it relates to the key accounts such as marketing, programming, operations, etc.
• Seek out and evaluate new business opportunities with detailed financial and strategic analyses - negotiate deal terms and contracts
• Interface closely with product management to steer features and functionality with an eye to programming and driving usage
• Interface closely with senior management to socialize and champion deals
Requirements:
• 10+ years of business development experience either working for or with major media companies preferably in the mobile or new media space
• Extensive deal-making track record in mobile media
• Excellent organizational, statistical and analytical skills
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Familiarity working in a cross-function environment with various departments such asproduct management, finance, marketing and operations
• Strong understanding of digital media rights
