Job Description VP of Finance & Operations
Position Overview:
The VP of Finance & Operations will oversee all accounting, finance, hr, and operations activity. This position reports directly to the President. This is a hands-on, roll-up the sleeves, management position which will be a key driver in the coming year’s company wide growth. This person will play an integral role in defining systems and processes that will streamline the office across multiple functional areas. The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and professional who will be a key contributing team member of Cymfony, a market influence analytics company that sifts and interprets the millions of voices at the intersection of traditional and social media.
Responsibilities:
The VP of Finance and Operations will be responsible for the efficient financial and operations administration of TNS MI Cymfony. Major responsibilities include but not limited to:
Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness. Participate in planning and executing strategic operational changes.
Oversee all operation planning including forecasting of all capital expenditure needs, streamlining and operating within group guidelines and all purchasing of assets.
Manage all facility related issues including overseeing all systems outside of network infrastructure
Interact with entire Senior Management Team to ensure that company wide processes are clearly identified and streamlined: Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, Technology
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts of the company. Coordinate monthly forecasting exercise and annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Executive Team
Create, implement and maintain financial policies and internal controls in collaboration with New York Finance department
Manage all aspects of customer contracts, including term negotiations, revenue recognition, billing, and sales commission calculations. Interact with all departments regarding the delivery and financial aspects of customer contracts.
Manage expenses, invoice approval and coding. Oversee selection and maintenance of all equipment and/or services and manage relationships with service vendors
Oversee all accounts receivable and monitor accounts payable.
Manage and oversee creation of fiscal reports and dashboards to for monitoring revenues and expenses.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
Strong Financial reporting and analysis skills
7-10 years of Senior Financial management
Expert knowledge of Excel
Excellent management skills - organizational and motivational
Good team player with a “can do” attitude
Excellent time management, communication and listening
Experience on negotiating client contracts and other legal related work.
