Here at NextStudent we are looking for a Web Developer to work under the guidance of the web operations manager, the web developer will maintain and develop numerous websites. Works with the web operations manager, marketing, IT, and sales to ensure that websites are integrated with business requirements. Writes and documents code for public websites. Will be responsible for working collaboratively as a member of the web operations team in a fast-paced environment, with focus on completing work in accordance with established plans and quality standards. Ability to multitask and be involved with several different initiatives and job responsibilities is a necessity.
Ongoing Job Responsibilities:
* Develop public websites
* Maintain and update existing websites
* Develop small scale web applications
* Work with I.T. to insure all projects are coded to standard
* Integrate legacy systems or sites with new projects
* Find inefficiencies in processes or programs and increase code re-use
Requirements:
* Proficient in database development and programming for Microsoft SQL Server
* Must be proficient in .NET development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP, XML knowledge
* Experience in developing Web sites in a Microsoft environment
* Ability to translate design templates into HTML
* Basic understanding of good user interfaces
* Knowledge of XHTML and web standards
* Knowledge of accessibility guidelines such as 508 and/or WCAG a plus
* Should be able to write code by hand but experience with WYSIWYG editors such as Dreamweaver MX/8
* Should be entrepreneurial but work well in a team environment
Preferences:
* Knowledge of accessibility guidelines such as 508 and/or WCAG a plus
* Experience in Microsoft IIS server administration a plus
* Experience in marketing or marketing communications fields
* Experience in high-tech business-to-business organizations plans
* SQL skills preferred
